This small book is a gem. I opened it wondering if it had some words of wisdom for me, a former classroom teacher who is now a grandmother of five precious little ones. When I closed the back cover, I was convinced it is a "must read" for anyone who has young children in their lives. Living the Magic is a treasure trove of fun stories, from the child who, rather than "Seminole," heard the words "cinnamon roll" to the youngster who entertained the classroom dressed up as George Washington (complete with pony tail). Through vignettes from Ruthann's classroom, we get helpful hints that remind us what an exciting time childhood is and that parents, teachers, and grandparents are key to creating the structured, safe place for children that reinforces youngsters' creativity and learning as they navigate this world of wonder. The children Ruthann taught over the course of her 37 years in the classroom probably had one of the best introductions to school and to learning possible. Hopefully, readers will take away ideas from this book that will help us all continue to create the magic for the children in our own lives.Product details

A truly magical book! I was moved to tears and laughter many times while enjoying Ruthann Siebert's wonderful stories. A must-read for anyone who works with children. Extremely inspirational!
As a former student of Mrs. Siebert, and a current kindergarten teacher, I loved Mrs. Siebert's book. I also remember loving her class as a student. In her book, she recorded humorous kindergarten stories and a lot of great teaching advice. Mrs. Siebert does a great job explaining her love for teaching children, having fun with children, while still using consistency and discipline. Her passion for teaching inspires me to be a better teacher. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Mrs. Siebert to discuss her book and visit. She still cares deeply for her past students and even substitutes at the local high school (where she often gets to interact with them). This teacher truly made a difference! Her book is worth reading!
